In the heart of County Monaghan’s drumlin landscape, Rossmore Forest Park blends mature woodland, quiet lakeshores, and open parkland into a single, easy escape. A spread of walking trails suits every ability, from short, gentle loops to a longer circuit for anyone after more distance, and each one is colour-coded for simple navigation. The full set runs as follows:

- Silver Lakes Trail (3.5 km, 1 hr 10 min, white on blue markers);
- Lost Castle Trail (3.0 km, 1 hr, white on pink markers);
- Wild Woodland Trail (1.4 km, 35 min, white on green markers);
- Access for All Trail (0.8 km, 30 min, red markers);
- Barn Hill Lake Loop (1.7 km, 45 min, orange markers);
- Twin Lakes Loop (2.6 km, 1 hr, white markers);
- Priestfield Lake Loop (2.9 km, 1 hr, green markers);
Castle Trail (3.0 km, 1 hr, brown markers);- Rossmore Loop (8.0 km, 2.5 hr, blue markers).
Picnic areas, car parking facilities, an on-site coffee and refreshment stand, a children’s play park, and a family-friendly cycle trail are all available within the park. Admission is free, and the park is open during daylight hours. A maximum vehicle height of 1.9 m applies at the main entrance. With lakeside paths and shaded woodland throughout, the park works equally well for a short stop or a full day.
